Khalkha Mongolian
Khalkha Mongolian (Eastern branch, Mongolic) is a language spoken by ⪆ 2.6 million speakers in Mongolia (2020 Census), where it is the national language. It is written in both the Mongolian Cyrillic alphabet and the traditional Mongolian script.
Khalkha Mongolian shares many linguistic features with neighboring Mongolic, Turkic, and Tungusic languages: an SOV basic word order, head-finality, agglutinative morphology, vowel harmony, and more.
